Nestled high in the
picturesque San Juan range of the southwestern Colorado Rocky Mountains in Telluride,
Colorado
is the Winston Gallery of Fine Art.
Established in 2000, the
Winston Gallery features fine oil landscapes and portraitures by 20th century
American and Russian painters. It has been the dream of Charles Conner, owner of
the Winston Gallery, to introduce to the Telluride region the works of American
artists, Gary Ernest
Smith and John C. Terelak,
as well as paintings by dozens of Russian and Soviet artists.
From the contemporary farm scenes painted
by Gary Ernest Smith to the landscapes by impressionist John C. Terelak, the
Winston Gallery comes alive with vivid images of America.
Complementing
these paintings are landscapes and portraitures by Russian and Soviet
impressionists. These artists painted from the 1930s to the 1980s when much of
the cultural life in the old Soviet Union effectively lay hidden from western
eyes.
Whether you visit our gallery located at 9,500 feet above sea level
at the base of the Telluride ski slopes or visit our website as you are
currently doing, you will most assuredly enjoy the fine oil paintings featured
by the Winston Gallery of Fine Art. |
